Dr. Marilyn Goodwin joined the faculty at Campbellsville University in August of
2010. However, this is not where her journey began with Campbellsville University.
She is also a proud graduate as well, receiving her bachelor’s degrees from Campbellsville
College now Campbellsville University. She currently teaches ECE and IECE graduate
and undergraduate courses online, on the main campus and at the Somerset Education
Center. She also teaches several courses through our Belize partners.
Before coming to Campbellsville University, Dr. Marilyn Goodwin served as the director
of Campbellsville Child Development Center a Ministry of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She also previously served as a preschool/children’s ministry consultant for the Kentucky
Baptist Convention.
Degrees: Campbellsville College now Campbellsville University, B.A. in Christian Education
and Office Management (1993). The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Master of
Divinity in Christian Education emphasis in Preschool and Children’s Ministry (1996).
Capella University, Ph. D. in Education (2014).
Certifications: Kentucky Early Childhood Certified Trainer (2004). Google Certified
Educator Level 1 (2021).
Marilyn’s research areas include preschool education and literacy, technology in early
childhood education, and service leadership. Her dissertation was Literacy Skills
of Kindergarten Students with Preschool Experience Compared to Those with No Preschool
Experience in One Southeastern United States Rural School District.
