Sharon Thomas

Mrs. Thomas is a resident of Marion County. She earned her diploma in Practical Nursing from the Danville School of Practical Nursing in 1994. She earned her BSN from Eastern KY University in May 2000, and her MSN with an emphasis in nursing education from Walden University in April 2013. Her clinical background includes Long-Term Care, Orthopedics & Neurosurgery, and Women’s Care and Labor & Delivery.   Mrs. Thomas joined the School of Nursing as a clinical adjunct in fall 2009 and became full-time faculty in fall 2011. She has taught Fundamentals of Nursing and Maternal & Child Nursing in the ADN/AAS Program. Most recently, she is the Practical Nursing Program Coordinator for the main campus where she was instrumental in helping to develop the program. Mrs. Thomas was the recipient of the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Faculty Member in 2020.   Mrs. Thomas is a member of the American Nurses Association, Kentucky Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Kentucky League for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses(AWHONN).
